Harry Patel is the Executive Chef and Proprietor of Harry’ Rasoi and has opened his kitchen to what can only be described as a ‘Higher Brand’ of indian cuisine.
Having dwelt on the memories of helping his mother in the kitchen and the somewhat poor fayre currently being served up in the various local establishments, he decided to offer his take on the scene.
At the ripe old age of 39 he decided to gain formal training as a chef at Thames Valley University and under Liam O’Niel (exec chef at the Sheraton, Belgravia) where he was intoduced to various international cuisines including British menus.
It was in July 2010 that a friend asked him to cook an indian meal at his house for himself and his friends and says that this was his first attempt at indian cooking for people other than his family so, drawing from his training and the memories of all those hours helping his mother as well as a few calls to his sister to confirm that his memory was still in good order, a succcessful meal was delivered. As an existing and well known restaurantuer and character in Maidenhead he decided to offer his brand of knowledge and integrity to open a kitchen in town and deliver the best indian food in quality and taste as it seemed that too many indian restaurants are using phrases like ‘Traditional’, ‘Authentic’, and ‘Finest’ and trading on reputations and location…..without really delivering Harry’s maxim was, that to deliver a great tasting meal you must first start with the best ingredients- he only use Free Range Chicken and British Lamb and boasts that no other Indian take away and restaurant is using this grade of produce in their menus.
