We were pleased with the turn out at the Committee meeting on Monday evening which resulted in almost a full house, and in the application being heard separately from the other planning applications in order to accommodate the gallery.
Although the Chamber of Commerce made a speech in objection to the application, I am pleased to say that the Councillors voted unanimously in favour of a resolution to grant planning permission. A good number of the Councillors on the Committee spoke positively about Lidl and the limited impact that they believe it will have on Maidenhead Town Centre. Some also cited the strength of public support as a powerful incentive to support our application.
We will now work to finalise legal agreements with Lok’nStore and RBWM as soon as possible to enable Lok’nStore to commence the construction process.
King Regards Lidl.
